Can you fly a drone at Loch Raven, Liberty or Prettyboy Reservoir?
Loch Raven, Liberty & Prettyboy reservoirs
Drones are allowed on City of Baltimore watershed property at the Loch Raven, Liberty and Prettyboy reservoirs, as long as you follow all FAA rules and the TRUST requirement for recreational pilots. No city permit is needed, and no part of the reservoirs is currently off-limits, but the city asks pilots to use caution and good judgment near its dams and water intakes. The reservoirs sit in Baltimore and Carroll counties, but the watershed land is owned by Baltimore City, which sets this rule. The city may add rules around its critical infrastructure, so check its reservoir regulations before you go, and check B4UFLY for airspace.
