Can you fly a drone at the Chesapeake Bay RC field?
Chesapeake Bay RC field (Crownsville)
Multirotor drones are welcome at the Chesapeake Bay RC field, 680 Evergreen Road in Crownsville, an FAA-recognized flying site (FRIA). Under the club’s FRIA agreement, no FPV: line-of-sight flying only, with a 400-foot maximum. Visiting AMA members with a valid TRUST certificate can fly, but the field is gated, so a club member has to be there. The field closes at dusk. The best way to reach the club is its Facebook group. Field details: grass runway about 200 by 30 feet in a tight flying area of roughly 2.3 acres, surrounded by 80-foot trees 160 to 240 feet past each runway end. Field details from Maryland Model Aviation, used with permission.
