Can you fly a drone in Montgomery County parks?
Montgomery Parks (Montgomery County)
Drones can’t be operated, launched or controlled from or above Montgomery Parks property unless you have a park permit or you’re in an area the parks have expressly designated for drones. The rule covers recreational and commercial flying, and FAA Part 107 certification alone doesn’t give you permission to fly on park land. For permits, commercial filming or designated areas, contact the Montgomery Parks Permit Office at 301-495-2525 or [email protected], weekdays 8:30am to 5pm. For a place to fly, Montgomery Parks points pilots to the Montgomery County Model Airpark in Boyds, where the D.C. R/C Club flies (see Walt Good Field). Much of the county is also inside the D.C. SFRA, so check B4UFLY before any flight.
